Job Description: -
• This role is accountable for performing daily outbound transportation tasks and carrier related communications for multiple manufacturing facilities, creating solutions that are in the best interest of the customer and Client.
• The TSS will assign daily freight to the carrier base to meet delivery dates of customer orders in a cost-effective manner.
• The TSS will collaborate with Customers, Carriers, Manufacturing Facilities, Customer Service Specialists, Logistics Analyst, Material Planners, and other OC organizations as necessary to identify and troubleshoot issues to ultimately deliver our product on-time and damage free.
• This role will require the TSS to embrace and actively display the Client values, stands and purpose.
Reports to: Fulfillment Lead Specialist Span of Control: Individual role with assigned responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: -
• Manage service for our customers
• Ensure timely and damage free delivery; meeting on-time delivery promise for our customers
• Actively manage Carrier performance
• Proactive customer communication
• Support OC plant activities to ensure timely loading
• Verification of loading and delivery of material
• Leverage basic supply chain understanding to maximize value for our customers
• Recognizing and acting on customer opportunities
• Understand basic OC product knowledge
• Grow financial value
• Optimization of carriers to ensure cost effective delivery of goods
• Drive decision making around individual business strategy to best support customer expectations
• Identify rate gaps and related actions
• Analyze lane dynamics for cost saving opportunities
• Creating/consolidating shipments for OC customers and internal stock transfer orders in the most cost-effective manner
• Maximize utilization of dedicated fleet
• Effectively use Lean Sigma methodology and tools to support a waste free environment
• Identify and take action to eliminate non-value-added activities within day-to-day operations
• Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities
• Implement a personal safety action plan and review with leader
• Always adhere to the client’s safety policies
Job requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School degree
Preferred experience:
• Undergraduate Degree Preferred
• Supply chain knowledge and experience preferred
• Exposure to large integrated software systems (ERP, MRP, SAP,) preferred
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
• Fluency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of building materials industry preferred
• Supply Chain knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills
• Supportive and adaptive to change management initiatives
