Commercial Proofreading Resource

Commercial Proofreading resource must accurately identify and communicate discrepancies in proposed vs. reviewed promotional and sales training materials as part of the Material Approval Process (MAP). The individual in this role will verify reviewers change-requests to ensure that highly regulated MAP materials meet or exceed Clients’ content and delivery expectation for use in the field, at conventions, company meetings or training events. Role requires extreme attention to detail and quality assurance. This individual is relied upon to meet mission critical deliverable timelines. Proofreading is essential to our commitment to deliver in-market materials aligned to commercial objectives. The Proofreading role is mandated by MAP governing document SOP-1617, applicable to all promotional and sales training materials. This role supports strategic priorities/goals and/or mission-critical operations by ensuring all MAP-approved materials, print and electronic, become available for in-market use in the timeframe designated as essential to Marketing goals. Experience working in pharma industry is desirable, though not required. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with document management system Veeva PromoMats and proofreading software such as TVT for DocuProof. This role does not include copywriting responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- With software support, thoroughly review and correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors in various types of content, including written materials, websites, marketing materials, and more.
- Compare updated/final versions against approved version to identify any new/changed content
- Annotate and clearly communicate any discrepancies in subsequent versions
- Verify that any discrepancies are reconciled with all MAP process stakeholders
- Review copy/design layout in a variety of different platforms and environments
- Provide pre-press proofing and approval of printer production proofs and final samples in both digital and hard copy formats
- Display strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a remote setting
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- At least 2-4 years of proofreading/editing experience
- Experience working in pharma or a highly regulated industry
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to understand technical/medical writing
- Detail-oriented with effective time management and strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated, positive team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Available for evening work occasionally to support product launches
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Proficient in MS Office and Windows browser compatibility
- Able to identify, report and manage defects
- Professional grammatical and copy-editing abilities
- Experience with Veeva PromoMats software
- Experience with proofreading software
