Compliance Specialist (Industrial hygiene)

Industrial hygiene and chemical process hazard assessment for research and development facilities in EMEA and NORAM. Role is based in Redmond, WA.
Core Responsibilities:
Assess and provide industrial hygiene evaluation for new and changing processes involving chemical reactions within benchtop, semiconductor tools and other research and development equipment
Partner with environmental team for assessment and recommendation of controls using a risk-based approach
Document recommendations and provide assessment summaries and education to key stakeholders
Assess chemical reactions to ensure evaluation for potential by-products or other adverse conditions associated with proposed experiments; utilize hazard analysis methodology
Review proposed designs for new processes including ventilation systems and provides input on controls in collaboration with EHS Safety Engineering project lead
Education/ Skills:
Education (BS, min) in Chemical engineering, industrial hygiene
Minimum of 7 years performing process safety, hazard analysis or complex chemical engineering work
Experience in Semiconductor/ Fab or similar industry working with and assessing toxic gasses, novel chemistries and nano-particles
Desired: Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Call outs:
- must understand chemical process, seeking those who have some type of a Chem degree and understands CIH
- 10 + overall looking for a senior expert in the above call outs
- This is a high-level role, and the intent is not manual labor but who can evaluate research studies etc. They are working closely with the CWAM and the EHS Technical program team
- Think Industrial hygienists, someone who can evaluate requests for new machines, solve a problem by reading a manual and overall profile expertise in this field.
- will work 40 hours on average a week but may have different hours worked depending on the day.
