Data Engineer II

Contract: 12 Months+

At Labs Research, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a motivated research assistant to join our team, whose mission is to create and apply scientific knowledge about the cognitive system to improve human experiences.

We are specifically looking for candidates with experience in supporting human behavioral experiments. Our team of researchers is identifying cognitively-inspired solutions for human computer interaction. The chosen candidates will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.

The role will include developing infrastructure (tools for labeling, training, testing, performance evaluation, deployment) of deep learning models; facilitate data collaboration and experimentation on novel algorithms and models with researchers; implementing baseline published deep learning algorithms; collaborating with engineers to deploy models in AR/VR prototypes, demos, and other related work.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with at least one deep learning toolkit (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow).
  • Experience implementing, debugging, fine-tuning of deep learning models.
  • Preferred qualifications
  • Background in computational models of machine learning, deep learning, dynamic programming,
  • Markov decision processes, human–machine collaboration, or related fields.
  • General signal processing, filtering & characterization.

Educational background:

  • Required: BS or higher in computer science, applied math, sensing & control, robotics, or a related field.

Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects:

What are some things you liked about the person previously in this role?

Proactive, takes initiative to unblock himself. Constantly align expectations and working progress. Knowledgeable on fundamental DL infrastructures and network architectures. Capable of fine-tuning and modify network structures. Capable of creating and running training and testing processes.
