We're a multidisciplinary team that supports how we make headsets to fit everyone. Data analysts will be responsible for sharing information about our anthropometric database to many stakeholders across the company.

Job Description:

This person will provide statistical analysis support for one large project involving 3D scan and human factors data that is ongoing. The person will perform statistical analyses and write reusable analysis code in support of the project. They may be asked to prepare dashboards, charts and slides for presentations, and various reports. They may also be asked to help design data analysis plans on adjacent smaller studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine data and produce meaningful insights from 3D geometry data.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and identify any problems or errors in the data.
  • Plan for and execute on statistical analysis for a large and growing data set (N=3000+ people, potentially hundreds of data points per person)
  • Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.
  • Create code (in C++, Python, R or equivalent) for data analysis
  • Work with science staff to translate research questions to analysis tools and results
  • Provide data visualization support, which includes, but limited to support for dashboards and other ad-hoc requests requiring data analysis and visual support..
  • Use a variety of sources to research and analyze topics, becoming an expert in a field.
  • Present results in written and oral formats.
  • On demand consultation for analysis of smaller studies

Skills:

  • Experience with 3D geometry analysis and 3D graphics (i.e. can do PCA on meshes).
  • Prior experience with Python, R, MATLAB, or equivalent for large data sets.
  • Understanding of large database infrastructure (SQL) is an asset.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in writing, including conveying complex information and promoting in-depth engagement on course topics.
  • Demonstrated experience with multivariate analysis approaches, principal components analysis, independent components analysis, hierarchical regression modeling, non-linear regression and modeling, machine learning approaches.
  • Experience with computer vision and motion capture data analysis is helpful.

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

  • Can perform in depth statistical analyses to provide insights into data, and derive trends and correlations that are important to stakeholders
  • Coding in Python/R
  • Database creation and querying (SQL or NoSQL)

Good to have skills:

  • Experience with 3D geometry analysis and 3D graphics (i.e. can do PCA on meshes).
  • Can make visualizations to show analysis results and present to various audiences
  • Experience with human data and user studies
