Display Architecture Engineer

Payrange: $90-100/HR
Summary:
- The main function of a hardware engineer is to research, design, develop, test computer or computer-related equipment for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. A typical hardware engineer is responsible for the manufacture and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and approve plan layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications.
- Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
- Supervise functioning of equipment and approve modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
- Write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction.
- Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
- Provide training and support to system designers and users.
- Design and develop computer hardware and support peripherals, including central processing units (CPUs), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and printers and disk drives.
- Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.

- Strong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- Master’s or PHD highly preferred, look for candidates that have this first.
Key Daily activities:
- Successfully define and design the display EE architecture.
- Successfully bring up the display evaluation kit and prototyping work
- Successfully work with PD, D&O and FW teams to finalize the display design.
- Optimize the display power consumption and latency.
Top 3 must-have HARD skills:
- Experience on display EE architecture, PCB and flex schematic capture and layout skills
- Hands-on experience in display bring-up, including writing FW (Firmware) and validations.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, or other scripting languages
Good to have skills:
- In-depth understanding of micro-LED and LED display technologies and display module, display panel, and display IC and display interfaces
- Direct working experience with display vendors in APAC and Consumer electronics and production experience
- Extensive knowledge on various high-speed display electrical interfaces standards including MIPI and eDP protocol design/testing/implementation.
