About the Job

Seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our dynamic Data Governance team. Responsibilities include evaluating large datasets, extracting insights, and providing actionable recommendations for a strategic data modernization project. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, use tools such as SQL, RStudio, Python, Excel, and Qlik, and generate reports and visualizations. Additionally, the role involves integration of data from multiple sources, and creating advanced reports for analysis and manipulation. The ideal candidate is self-directed and comfortable with data analysis tools and technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the cross-functional project team to understand business objectives, data requirements and support the analysis of data for a large-scale data modernization project.
  • Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden patterns and correlations.
  • Generate reports and visualizations for effective communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure data validation across teams and promote analysis using charts and visualizations.
  • Guide leaders and staff in interpreting data.
  • Act as a consultant for teams in designing and implementing analytical structures.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to create relational databases for advanced analysis and reporting.
  • Generate advanced reports from data systems and link multiple datasets to create large databases.
  • Facilitate programming of large datasets and reporting tools for end-user usability.
  • Lead the creation of reporting tools and datasets for end-user analysis and manipulation.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of database management, mining, analysis and statistics.
  • Intermediate knowledge of programming languages (SQL)
  • Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel)
  • Advanced proficiency with database management systems (Access, Oracle)
  • Advanced proficiency with data mining and analysis tools (Business Objects, Datawatch Monarch Pro, SAS, IBM SPSS)
  • Intermediate proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing and presentation software (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings into understandable insights.
  • Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with preference in clinical informatics, sciences, math, statistics, healthcare management or other healthcare related degree.

Required Experience:

  • At least three (3) years’ data analysis or database management experience is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least five (5) years of data analysis or database management experience
  • Previous experience working in a complex health care related environment.
