Electrical Engineer I

- Under close supervision, assists in providing technical advice and guidance for designated Engineering projects and programs at assigned site.
- Assists in the review, investigation, and development of appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
- Participates on small to medium site construction, expansion, or modification projects.
- Administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignment.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related Engineering discipline with no experience required.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering.
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred:
- Experience with or classes related to Power Systems Engineering.
- Familiarity with industrial AC and DC motors, VFD’s and plant instrumentation.
- Familiarity with powerline layout, engineering, and construction.
- Familiarity with MV power systems.
- Leadership and construction / mining experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of NEC & NFPA70E Regulations.
- Familiarity with designing Power, Instrumentation and Controls Systems.
- Experience with ETAP and AutoCAD or similar software for design.
- Self-motivated with excellent work ethic.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
