Electrical Engineer I

  • Under close supervision, assists in providing technical advice and guidance for designated Engineering projects and programs at assigned site.
  • Assists in the review, investigation, and development of appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
  • Participates on small to medium site construction, expansion, or modification projects.
  • Administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
  • Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignment.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related Engineering discipline with no experience required.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering.
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

 Preferred:

  • Experience with or classes related to Power Systems Engineering.
  • Familiarity with industrial AC and DC motors, VFD’s and plant instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with powerline layout, engineering, and construction.
  • Familiarity with MV power systems.
  • Leadership and construction / mining experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NEC & NFPA70E Regulations.
  • Familiarity with designing Power, Instrumentation and Controls Systems.
  • Experience with ETAP and AutoCAD or similar software for design.
  • Self-motivated with excellent work ethic.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
