Electrical Engineer III (Display Electrical Engineer)

Duration: 06 Months+

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The main function of a display electrical engineer is to design, develop, test, debug, and validate VR display modules. A typical display electrical engineer has the ability to make electrical measurements, read schematics, review layout files, troubleshoot electrical related issues.

Note: A key and primary component of this job will be to take the display electrical measurements and debug/troubleshoot when issues are discovered

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform display bring up, testing, and troubleshooting of components
  • Perform display electrical verification and validation
  • Perform testing and debug for any display electrical related issues.
  • Identify display related failures at module and system level and provide solutions to mitigate the issue
  • Review and summarize test results
  • Support related activities in display module development, qualification, and support integration to the system from development phase to mass production
  • Contribute to or author document display test criteria and methodology for display module and system testing
  • Update display documentation specifications

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of LCD and OLED display technologies and display module, display panel, and display IC design (DDIC)
  • Experience with display electrical subsystem design/testing/implementation/validation
  • Experience with electrical test and measurement equipment, oscilloscope, DMM (digital multimeters), analyzers,
  • Extensive knowledge on various high-speed display electrical interfaces standards including MIPI and eDP protocol design/testing/implementation
  • Experience with display module PCB/flex design, interfaces standards, display driver IC, and display backlight
  • Experience with EMI and ESD risks and mitigation techniques
  • Direct working experience with display vendors
  • Knowledge of electrical signal integrity and simulations
  • Knowledge of display or system power delivery and simulations
  • Hands-on experience in display electrical test system development
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, or other scripting languages (to automate testing)
  • Experience with electrical engineering schematic and layout tools such as Allegro

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

  • Electrical experience as it pertains to displays -OLED/LED, including power on displays, troubleshooting ,validation, testing.
  • Experience operating oscilloscopes and take measurements, understanding of displays and the electrical interfaces, MIPI, EBP, etc.
  • At least a couple years of experience, knowledgeable and interactions in their display, not fresh out of school.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience, but willing to go down if need be.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
