Job Description

Summary:

  • As a hardware design test engineer, you will be responsible for systems architecture, design and test of new concepts, technologies and product development. You must be able to work with minimal guidance, demonstrate a high attention to detail, be partnership-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designing, simulating, prototyping, debugging and testing of embedded systems which combine electronics, mechanics, optics and software.
  • Specifying components, building schematics, completing board layouts, assembling, testing, debugging, and integrating designs into opto-electro-mechanical systems.
  • Collaborating in a team environment with cross-functional teams such system engineering, architecture, product design, NPI and research.
  • Ability to execute multiple streams of work simultaneously and independently balance and prioritize project workload to ensure success against timeline constraints.

 

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

  • Experience with system-level electrical design including circuit design, schematic capture and PCB layout through assembly, system bring-up, integration, and debug.
  • Designing, simulating, prototyping, debugging and testing of embedded systems which combine electronics, mechanics, optics and software.
  • Specifying components, building schematics, completing board layouts, assembling, testing, debugging, and integrating designs into opto-electro-mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging and related equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers, etc.)

 

Good to have skills:

  • Experience with VR/AR HW
  • Experience with low-power circuit design, DC/DC converters, power management methods, audio circuit design, and analog design
  • Experience with mixed-signal board design including processor architecture, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc.
  • Some experience with Embedded Software or Firmware Engineering preferred.

 

Years of experience required:

  • 8+ In Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ as a Hardware Design Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer
