Engineer Senior

Duration: 12 Months

Provide independent engineering service and support by performing complex engineering tasks requiring specialized skills and broad experience in the application of engineering fundamentals in support of the design modification, operation, and independent assessment of client’s facilities. Provide technical guidance within assigned discipline or activity.

• Perform complex engineering plans, designs, specifications, evaluations, studies, instructions, utilizing specialized analytical skills. Support systems, programs, audits, inspections, and assessments using skills and experience gained through application of engineering methods and analysis, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. May provide unconventional or advanced problem solving techniques. Routinely provide technical leadership on complex and/or extended programs and projects. Integrate design, regulatory, operating maintenance and administrative requirements into tasks. Perform tasks within schedule and budget. Ensure effective coordination of efforts with other departments and disciplines. Work with minimum supervision.

• Provide technical guidance to other engineers; check and review technical products of others. Serve as a mentor.

• Identify potential schedule or quality problems and initiate corrective actions in accordance with plant CR process.

• Develop plans for programs, projects, audits, testing, and inspections; lead audits and inspections. Use engineering judgment in evaluating results for findings.

• Interface with regulatory agencies as required.

Required Education and Experience   

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and five years of discipline specific engineering experience; OR a PE license obtained by an accredited examination and five years of discipline specific engineering experience. High school diploma or GED is required.

Required abilities and skills   

• Requires knowledge of discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories and methods to identify and solve standard to highly complex problems and perform sophisticated analyses.

Advanced knowledge of related discipline principles is also required.

• Computer skills, including complex methods used for problem solving.

• Effective communication skills are required to relate to a wide variety of backgrounds.

• Ability to provide strong technical leadership.

• Basic understanding and use of company Core Values (Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, Mutual respect and trust, through open and honest communication).
