Environmental Technician

Contract: 12 Months+

This is an onsite job

• Conducts site wide chemical inventory
• Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, vacuum equipment, and oil spill equipment
• Performs basic calculations and computer data entry
• Prepares and maintains necessary reports and records, as required
• Ability to lift 45 pounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain elementary neutralization wastewater treatment systems by conducting routine inspections, responding to alarms, monitoring systems, refilling neutralizing chemicals, and ordering supplies

• Maintains all applicable records for compliant operation of wastewater systems
• Conducts routine inspections for stormwater and SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure) program
• Serves as active member of emergency spill response team
• Partner and collaborate with the business and operations management
• Supports functions and cross functional teams to implement and administer environmental programs, procedures, and practices
• Contribute sand participates in company EHS program evaluations and EHS initiatives
• Collects samples from raw, semi-processed, or processed industrial wastewater for analysis
• Inspects and maintains data collection system on wastewater treatment units
• Maintains data collection instrumentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree in chemistry, environmental, or relevant scientific field
• Experience performing environmental technician work, including operating water treatment systems
• Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products

• 3+ years of wastewater operator experience
