Job Description:

This role has a focus on lab flavor applications in food products. This technician will support Food Technologists with lab scale up, execution of bench top flavor applications, lab cleanliness, recording project related documentation and other project support activities. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and a desire and willingness to learn new skills and openness to a dynamic workplace.

Requirements:

Knowledge of G.M.P’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and H.A.C.C.P (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
Must have computer skills, i.e. MS Office, Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Strict adherence to Firmenich implemented Covid protocols

Degree : Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related scientific field preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Food Technologists with benchtop flavor applications and customer project execution with minimal supervision
  • Knowledgeable in food processing and Food Sciences that include unit operations, material characterization techniques
  • Maintains cleanliness of lab spaces, including operational equipment, utensils and working surfaces in accordance with GMP
  • Ability to follow detailed processing and benchtop evaluation procedures as required with minimal supervision
  • Plans and executes day to day laboratory activities, , and accurately report data and observations to supervisor.
  • Ensures all project related documentation, spreadsheets, sanitation logs are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Supports external and internal collaboration to drive customer project execution
  • Maintain flavor library inventory.
  • Ensures the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of flavor application and interaction with ingredients in application.
  • Supports Food Technologist in managing working sessions and customer interactions
  • Stays informed on relevant industry trends/new ingredients & technologies
