GIS Administrator V
Duration: 12 Months
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain GIS applications, perform GIS data development, data conversion, and data maintenance tasks.
- Utilize CAD software to create, update, and modify electrical system maps and drawings.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure GIS and CAD systems meet business requirements and goals.
- Develop and implement GIS and CAD training programs for staff.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS and CAD systems.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in GIS and CAD technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent GIS work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree will be considered.
- A minimum of four years of experience in GIS administration, preferably within an electric utility company.
- Proficiency in GIS applications such as GE Smallworld and ESRI applications.
- Experience with CAD tools for creating and editing maps.
- Understanding of map projections and geospatial data formats.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science or a related field.
- More than 8 years of GIS technician and administrator work.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as SQL, Python.
- Experience with enterprise Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS).
- GIS Professional (GISP) certification.
- Familiarity with electric utility operations.
- IT / Helpdesk experience troubleshooting software issues.
