Grants Project Manager II

Duration: 12 Months

The Grant Writer position is a resourceful, detail oriented and collaborative team member that will play a crucial role in securing funding opportunities to support initiatives in clean energy. This position will focus on composing grant proposals tailored to the unique needs and goals of its members. The successful candidate will possess exceptional writing abilities, research skills, and a deep understanding of grant funding processes and requirements.

Principal Accountabilities           

Develop compelling grant proposals aligned with organizational objectives.

Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources to support the grant development process.

Support the research and identification of grant opportunities from various sources.

Evaluate and refine grant-seeking strategies based on feedback and emerging trends.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations and community stakeholders.

Management of other projects within the Professional Services department as needs arise.

Required Education and Experience      

Bachelor's degree in communications, English, public administration, or related field and over four years of experience in grant writing, preferably in the utilities or public sector.

OR

High School Diploma and at least seven years of experience in grant writing, preferably in the utilities, or public sector.

Required abilities and skills       

Familiarity with the regulations and guidelines governing the grant process, especially for federal and state grants.

Prior success in both writing and securing grants.

Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, strong planning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Aptitude for identifying challenges and obstacles within projects and finding innovative and practical solutions.

Experience with either directly or indirectly leading a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Competency in creating or managing accurate and realistic budgets that align with project proposals and grant requirements.

Project Management certification

Desired abilities and skills          

Involvement in project coordination or supporting project management roles with planning, executing, and monitoring projects.

Prior experience with the development of project plans, setting milestones, and managing resources and risks effectively.

Experience in roles focused on managing or facilitating change within organizations, including implementing new processes, systems, or technologies.

The ability to switch between the detail-oriented focus of grant writing and the broad, strategic perspective for project management.
