Hardware Engineer IV

Contract: 12 Months+

The main function of a hardware engineer is to research, design, develop, test computer or computer-related equipment for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. A typical hardware engineer is responsible for the manufacture and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components.

Job Responsibilities:
• Review and approve plan layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications.
• Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
• Supervise functioning of equipment and approve modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
• Write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction.
• Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
• Provide training and support to system designers and users.
• Design and develop computer hardware and support peripherals, including central processing units (CPUs), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and printers and disk drives.
• Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.

• Strong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

 

Must have HARD skills:
Strong EE fundamental.
Hand-on experience in the lab for SI and/or PI measurements.
Validation or testing experiences.

? Good to have skills:
HW EE validation, end-to-end system integration and/or validation.
Understand product development process, especially in consumer electronics.
Experience in system level testing, Coexistence.
Familiar with scripting for test automation and data collection.
Strong experiences in one or more of the following: high-speed, power supply, PMIC, sensors, Display, Camera, Audio, Battery, SOC, MCU, memory.
