Hardware Maintenance and Testing Technician

Duration :  12 Months +

The candidate will configure and maintain test hardware and infrastructure across multiple (dozens) mobile, desktop and workstation systems.

Must keep systems running, up to date, swap out processors and other hardware as the need arises, and keep hardware and validation infrastructure test-ready in all other ways, in support of client roadmap schedules.

In addition, the ability to troubleshoot/repair PC x86 motherboards down to component level is a plus.

Sense of urgency is a must. Must be able to multi-task under high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines.

Skills:

• Ability to troubleshoot motherboard down to component level.
• Run and load software to x86 windows platform!
• Soldering - required.

Experience:

• 2+ Years of PC validation /testing experience with good analytical and troubleshooting skills and/or 2+ years in PC x86 motherboard troubleshooting/debug skills.
• PC x86 Architecture experience system level knowledge of the following subsystems: Memory, PC Buses (PC1-E, USB, SATA, Ethernet, Processor, Chipset).
• Preferred OS requirements install, set-up, configure and troubleshoot: MS Windows OS, Linux OS. X86 SW exp. configure and change.
• BIOS settings: install and configure device drivers: install and set up applications.
• PC Hardware set up and configuration install and configure processors, hard drives, network cards, memory etc.
• MS and Linux OS Knowledge (install, configure, test). Must be comfortable with Linux command line.
• Strong problem solving (regression) skills. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Read and follow technical instructions, schematics, and PC Layouts. Enthusiastically work with others, display team spirit and support group decisions. Able to clearly communicate in written English (email, submit issues and document test results). Good organizational skills, ability to plan, prioritize and manage assigned workload; efficiently execute multiple projects at the same time. Quick learner, ability to pick up and learn new concepts, applications, and operating systems in a short period of time.
