Histologist

Duration: 3 Months(High Chance of extension)

• Under the supervision of the Histology Coordinator, responsible for performing a variety of Histology functions in the Histology Laboratory.
• Responsible for processing, embedding, cutting, and mounting on slides all surgical and autopsy tissue specimens. Stain all slides, cover slip and clean slides.
• As requested, use special stain; make up special stains from dyes.
• Clean and maintain instruments including auto-technician, tissue embedding center, microtome, and knife sharpener.
• Responsible for general cleaning of all work areas.
• Teach laboratory techniques and protocols to new employees.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience is required.

Education:

• ASCP certification or equivalent is preferred.

Shift: Morning/Evening/Night
