Image Sensor Characterization Engineer

Duration – 12 Months

Summary:

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to learn more about how sensors work and specialized skills in terms of camera systems. There are weekly team meetings and one-on-ones. The team is very open and collaborative. There is lots of opportunities for growth – especially those looking to expand their knowledge of cameras!

Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Performing image sensor characterization test following standard testing flow
  • Create, maintain, and operate opto-electronic test benches based on different use case requirements
  • Develop automation test scripts using Python, and MATLAB
  • Be able to work in an opto-electronic lab environment
  • Responsible for data collection, data analysis, and test report preparation
  • Responsible for sensor debugging, root cause analysis, and problem solving

Educational Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related discipline

Must-Have Skills:

  • Experience working in an electro-optical laboratory environment
  • Ability to use Matlab to analyze and present characterization data
  • Programming experience with coding languages of Python and MATLAB
  • Knowledge of device physics, statistic data analysis and knowledge with imaging process

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of industry experience in image sensor characterization
  • Knowledge of CAD and/or Zemax
  • Experience with using cameras in graduate research
  • Experience with prototyping / experimental set-ups, building experience
  • Experience with MTFs, optics set-ups, and optics modeling
