Mac Support Desktop Technician
Duration: 2 Years
• 3-5 years of Mac support experience.
• Corporate level experience, not ideal to be coming from the genius bar, but would consider it.
• Mac OS should be their bread and butter, if they have Windows experience great, but Mac is the most important.
• Experience with all Apple devices. Primarily Macs, but also iOS devices, iPads, and iPhones.
• Experience working in a managed Mac environment. JAMF experience a big plus.
• The ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of skill levels: designers, scientists, executives, and executive assistant.
• Multitasking and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good decision making, quick learner, the ability to retain information.
• Methodical troubleshooting skills
• Apple Certifications are good to have but not required. More important is a thorough knowledge of the macOS an especially how it operates in an enterprise environment and an agile brain.
• Example of issues that this person would be troubleshooting include but are not limited to:
• File Vault issues, password related issues, certificate/keychain issues, app issues (particularly Outlook and OneDrive), OS errors, and all issues that can occur with Macs working in an AD environment.
Years of experience:
- 3-5 years of Mac support experience.
