Marketing Manager

We are looking for someone who wants to change the future of cities and transportation by joining our Marketing team as a Local Marketing Manager. We are looking for a dynamic marketer and local expert who can uncover high-impact opportunities in the region and handle a wide range of responsibilities. One week you could be executing a driver event and the next week, you could be negotiating a major partnership. This role reports into the Marketing Chief of Staff.
The ideal candidate is a scrappy marketer and community connector who is well-versed in relationship building and negotiations but also thinks strategically, analytically, and creatively. You need to be a self-starter that requires little direction as you will be part of a small, on-the-ground team, charged with executing on a strategy to grow our market share.

Responsibilities:
- Help us build and execute on a marketing strategy in one of our top regions.
- Lead local marketing efforts, including everything from events, grassroots outreach, brand activations and partnership efforts.
- Build partnerships from lead generation to relationship management, execution, and reporting.
- Develop strong relationships with influencers, vendors, cross-functional business partners, and counterparts on the centralized marketing team.
- Work with our Insights/Analytics team to analyze data and uncover local rider, driver, and market insights.
- Help achieve aggressive rider/driver acquisition, retention, and brand goals.
- Ensure coordination among cross-functional stakeholders, including but not limited to stakeholders on Policy, Marketing, Enterprise, and Operations, and lead internal knowledge management organization.
Experience & Skills:
- Ideal candidate is based on the west coast, near either our or Seattle office.
- 4+ years general marketing experience
- 3-5+ years of project management, including budgeting, timelines, the ability to relay needs of projects to others, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working in both national and local capacity preferred (e.g., experience managing local affiliates or chapters of a national organization)
- Partnerships, events, outreach, business development and/or guerilla marketing experience
- Project management superstar: You can take a project, ask the right questions and make it happen with minimal oversight.
- Entrepreneurial self-starter: you have lots of ideas and can build something out of nothing.
- Agile marketer: you’re comfortable wearing many hats and adapting to changes on the fly.
- Creative problem-solver: you think strategically and enjoy designing new approaches.

- Community connector: you have deep local area knowledge and network.
- Bonus points:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency in G Suite, especially Google Slides
- Experience working for or with nonprofits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write program overviews and internal memos for use.
- Ability to write drafts of blog posts or website info for use outside.
- Ability to lead meetings and facilitate conversations internal and external.
- Expert in the Google Suite, specifically Mail, Calendar, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Meet, Chat
- This role will spend the majority of their time working in and communicating through Docs, Slides, and Sheets
- Detail-oriented, data-driven approach to work preferred (examples welcome)
- Slack, Salesforce, Coupa, Confluence, and Mode proficiency preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Needs to be able to travel ~ 20-40% of the time.
