Network Application Engineer

Duration:   12 Months

  • Comfortable working in a lab environment with server platform hardware debug instruments and debug software tools.
  • Triage, reproduce and debug root cause and deliver solutions for customer issues at the platform level related to or directly resulting from Ethernet IP on Xeon-Atom based System-On-Chips.
  • Test NVM FW before delivering to external teams.
  • Communicate with SOC partners and customers to articulate issue status, next steps, and engagement needed.
  • Work in the lab to debug SW/FW issues, instrument platform for debug access, update and change FW-NVM-SW ingredients as part of debug steps.
  • Candidate will be responsible for engaging in customer design enablement on SOC platforms with a SW emphasis.
  • Contribute to SW/FW design guides, application notes, datasheets, and other supporting technical collateral.
  • Advocates key customers customization request to backend teams through internal process.

Required Skills and qualifications:

Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the following:

  • Issue reproduction and debug lab tools such in-circuit emulators, traffic sniffers and bus analyzers.
  • Ethernet drivers and switch architecture knowledge.
  • Test automation tools and scripting languages (csh, phyton, VB)
  • IEEE8023 standard, TCP-IP, PCI-SIG Spec, DMTF spec, 10-25-40-50-100G Ethernet MAC-PHY architecture knowledge.
  • Windows and Linux driver stack debug experience. Basic understanding of BIOS Linux, kernel driver Windows, driver shell script.
  • SW driver or FW development, validation and debug skills
  • Design of systems with highspeed interfaces as PCIe, XAUI, SERDES, KX, KR, SFI.

Education:

  • Associate Degree (preferred)
