Operating Room Technician

Duration: __03__Months/_13_weeks.

The Operating Room Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of all patients under his/her care. Included within this assignment is the responsibility for ensuring effective communication with the charged nurse, the patient, staff, physicians, and other hospital departments.

Duties:

• Scrub procedure as assigned.
• Assist in work area in central sterile between scrub assignments prn.
• Assist in keeping the overall operating room clean and tidy.
• Report on and off duty at control desk.
• Report on and off at control desk for lunch.
• Inform the control desk where you are always while on duty.
• Make sure the room is cleaned, straightened, and stocked before going off duty.

Certifications:

• BLS- (AHA. Must include an image on the front and back of card with exp. date.)
