Pharmacy Technician

Duration: 03 Months.

This posting is for a Pharmacy Technician role in a non-retail pharmaceutical warehouse facility where under the supervision of a pharmacist, as the pharmacy technician, applicants will:

  • Fill prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist the pharmacist with scanning and labeling of special program medication orders in the bulk area.
  • Review order for special instructions such as safety caps and include appropriate paperwork and supplies with each order.
  • Maintain the pharmacy pick and pack stations ensuring they are properly stocked with medication and supplies.
  • Assist in maintaining dispensing and back stock refrigerators in a well-organized manner,
  • Assist in receiving, posting, put-away, and cycle counting functions.
  • Assist in the packing orders /shipping area when necessary or on a day-to-day basis.

Skills: Must Have: Required:

  • At least 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Michigan pharmacy technician certification required.
  • Basic computer and typing skills required.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
  • Lift 50lbs+, stand, walk, lift, reach, twist, turn, bend, stop and walk for up to ten hours daily.

Experience:

  • Selects, picks, packages and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescription, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with the specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws- Currently filling 300-400 orders a day.
  • Review order for special instructions such as safety caps and include appropriate paperwork and supplies with each order.
  • Responsible for cleaning/maintaining all pill counting devices/equipment, refrigerators, medication, and general working areas.
  • Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the filling station with medications and/or supplies as needed.
  • Exercise proper hands sanitization and hazardous medication handling practices-- this will be covered during training.
  • Accurate counting of medications utilizing a manual process.
  • Assist in the packing orders /shipping area on a day-to-day basis.

Professional Qualification:    

  • High School is Needed.

Experience Required: 00-06 Months.

Shift: 10am-6:30pm, Monday through Friday
