Process Technician

Duration: 06 Months

Product & Process Development Testing (70%)

• Fabricate product prototypes to understand possible design solutions
• Develop customer application mimics to evaluate product performance
• Build and operate lab, plant grow room and general pilot scale processes
• Partner with Product Testing to understand and execute testing
• Prepare samples for physical property measurements
• Document all testing data appropriately in LIMS, lab notebooks, memo reports or technical reports.
• Supports internal plant growth trials to test growing media products.

Plant Trial Support (30%)

• Participates in plant trial planning including safety
• Prepares equipment and materials for successful trial execution
• Coordinates trial close out tasks including shipping and material testing

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree in a technical field
• Hands-on mechanical skills including ability to build, operate, and maintain equipment
• Exposure to and interest in design, prototyping, and manufacturing
• Proficient in using a computer including MS Office Suite
• Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs. and stand for a large portion of the day
• Demonstration of safe work practices
• Experience designing test methods, data collection and analysis
• Ability to travel <20% of the time with advanced notice. Trial time will vary through the year and be dependent of project needs.

Preferred experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science field
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or R&D facility
• Experience with statistical analysis, data analysis, and reporting
