Project Coordinator

Duration: __12__ Months/__0 weeks.

Pay Rate: $44/HR on W2

  • Experience working with or for San Diego regional Community Based Organizations (CBO's) and/org tribes.
  • Experience leading and/or planning community outreach and engagement events.
  • Multilingual preferred (such as Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese)
  • Knowledge of equitable outreach and engagement practices and considerations
  • Knowledge of climate change, climate adaptation & resilience, and/or utilities preferred but not required.
  • Comfort with public speaking and presenting to groups.
  • Must be available to work evenings and possibly weekends.

Responsibilities:

Event Planning:

  • Lead team member responsible for scheduling, planning, and executing Climate Adaptation outreach and engagement events. Duties include scoping and securing suitable event locations, and coordinating logistics such as food, transportation, Audio/Visual, interpreters, give-aways, etc.

Communication Content Creation:

  • Support the draft and design communication and outreach materials such as flyers, brochures, presentations, and posterboards. Materials will then be reviewed by Marketing and Communications department and Legal before finalizing. The resource will be responsible for coordinating with these relevant departments to produce and deliver timely materials.
  • Assist in development social media toolkits and videos for, CBO, and partner communications.

Outreach & Engagement Attendance and Support:

  • Lead team member responsible for attending Climate Adaptation outreach & engagement events and activities. As such, working hours likely include some weeknights and weekends. Resource will also be point person for supporting other teams’ outreach related or relevant to Climate Adaptation.
  • Lead team member responsible for attending and supporting Community Based Organizations (CBOs), tribal, and regional partner events relevant to climate adaptation.

Community Engagement Plan Support:

  • Support the Climate Adaptation team in additional tasks or responsibilities in its efforts to fulfill regulatory mandates.
