Quality Control Inspector I

Duration: 9+ Months

The incumbent is responsible to stock and distribute materials. Reads shop orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials. Lead or assist in loading or moving materials and products. Operates hand cart or other equipment as needed to move raw materials, in process materials, and finished products to and from the manufacturing and warehouse areas. Participates on emergency response teams as required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Loads and unloads materials into or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves using ladders, pallet jack or manually. Conveys materials to or from warehouse or manufacturing areas, using carts, dollies, or other devices. Dispatches all production shop orders as per established schedule prepared by the Production/Materials Planner or warehouse group leader of coordinator. Counts, weighs and updates records of all raw materials received at stores or issued to production areas. Inputs daily transactions on the Oracle System terminal. Inventory cycle count as required. Maintains all raw materials properly identified with Part Numbers, Description, Lot Number, Quantity, and other required information. Keeps and ensures the adequate storage of raw material and finished goods. Informs the Planner and Planner Buyers of shortages of materials or lack of materials to avoid downtime on production. Maintains security measures for the Printed Material area. Notifies supervisor of any defects of the material handling equipment or need of other equipment. Dispatch priority orders before others, in to meet production schedule. Maintains a constant flow of shop orders in production process to maintain a constant flow of production and maximize use of human resource, machinery, etc. Maintains warehouse area organized and clean to avoid accidents or hazardous conditions. pallet jack, and hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipment from any areas of warehouse to storage or work area. May drive company van to transport products or materials when required. Verifies stock transfer information provided by Incoming Inspectors and locates products in the corresponding areas of warehouse when required. When required, coordinates, and participates in annual physical inventory. Fills in required information on shop orders, material requisition list, and other documentation. Issues all processing supplies to all production areas to maintain a continuous flow of production. Completes routing approvals, submits to Cost Accountant appropriate inventory adjustment documents. Performs other related duties as requested.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge of warehouse related functions - combination of shipping/receiving experience. Taking stuff off vehicles with a quality/inspect - check it against the packing list. More process oriented. Trainable. Team environment. Must work well with others.
Ability to prepare documentation and reports. Works with computer system to input data, ERP system experience preferred.
