Small Molecule Compound Management Assistant (Contract)

Do you have a passion for high-throughput drug discovery and a knack for organization? This contract position in our Bioassays team offers an exciting opportunity to support the critical function of small molecule compound management in a fast-paced drug discovery environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process compound requests with accuracy and efficiency using automated workflows, liquid handling tools, and sample management systems, supporting high-throughput screening (HTS) and hit-to-lead efforts.
  • Prepare assay-ready compound plates on a set schedule for weekly profiling assays, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate the logistics of compound movement by managing incoming and outgoing shipments to/from contract research organizations (CROs), partners, and collaborators.
  • Maintain the integrity of the compound management process by performing quality control procedures on liquid handling equipment and troubleshooting issues under supervision.
  • Contribute to a clean and well-maintained workspace by assisting with regular upkeep and ordering of related consumables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience working in a compound management group is a plus.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms, especially HighRes Biosolutions robotics, is highly beneficial.
  • Understanding of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or databases is desired.
  • Experience in basic cell culture to maintain multiple cell lines is preferred.
