Research Scientist III

Job Category: Biotech/Pharmaceutical/Scientific

Duration: 06 Months

Pay Rate: $62 Per hour to $64 per hour on W2.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and qualifying immunoassays such as ELISAs, MSD assays, and anti-drug antibody assays. Depending on experience, the incumbent may also develop methods for large molecule analysis via LC-MS (mass spec). The successful candidate will develop assays to support multiple projects and will analyze pre-clinical study samples for drug concentration, metabolites, biomarkers, and anti-drug antibodies (ADA). This list contains the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may perform role-related duties other than those contained in this document.

Essential Functions:
• Develop and qualify complex assays for measuring the concentration of XTENylated molecules and metabolites, and for detection of antibodies against XTENylated molecules, on immunoassay platforms such as MSD.
• Depending on experience, develop mass spec methods for large molecules.
• Source and characterize assay reagents (screen antibodies, conjugate labels, determine labeling efficiency, etc.).
• Assist in evaluation of novel technologies and assay platforms.
• Perform pre-clinical sample analysis using relevant assays (ELISA, MSD, anti-drug antibody, Luminex, etc.).
• Document all activities in an electronic notebook, compile data and analyze results in a timely fashion.
• Present data in group settings to update other teams on progress of assay development.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibrations, and verifications as needed.
• Collaborate with other assay development team members to complete tasks and meet departmental goals.
• Work cross-functionally with members of other departments to complete tasks when required.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 4+ years of work experience or a Master’s degree with 1+ years of work experience. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
• Experience developing complex assays, particularly immunoassays (ELISA, MSD) or peptide mass spec methods, is highly desirable.
