RN - Labor & Delivery

Duration: 3 Months

Pay Rate: $76/Hr on W2 ($2736 weekly)

The Labor and Delivery RN will deliver professional nursing care to all patients in Fetal Diagnostic Center and Labor and Delivery. Performs assessment and acuity assignment; follows standard of care utilizing Nursing Process in delivery of care; maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions. Daily assignment of an RN may include supervision of other nursing personnel and/or students.

Responsibilities

  • You will demonstrate proficiency in assessment, treatment, and care for laboring moms and for newborns.
  • You will work in collaboration with other members of the health care team to protect, promote and optimize health and ability, prevent illness and injury, alleviate suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocate in the care of individuals and families.
  • You will exhibit the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patient/s
  • You will contribute to the practice of nursing through participation in Shared Governance, attendance at unit meetings, completion of surveys, sharing of ideas through informal and formal channels of communication.
  • You will consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing services.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned
  • You will consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients.
  •  You will collaborate with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes.
  • You will provide communication, confidence, and professionalism as evidenced by active engagement in unit and organizational activities.
  • You will demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serving as a resource to the patient care team
  • You will have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing.

Job Qualification

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Minimum one to two years’ experience in a hospital setting.

Shift – Day / Night
