RNA Therapeutic Bench Scientist

Duration: 18 Months

BS with 2-4 years or MS with 0-2 years of hands-on experience in Cell or Molecular Biology or related field

Any Non human Primate work (live or cell lines)

Biohazardous Agent work (such as menigiditis, staph aureus, Lenti Virus, streph pneumoniae)

NHP cells or tissues

Unscreened blood, human tissue or human cell lines

Seeking a creative and self-motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join their team. The candidate will play an essential role in a high-energy RNA and biotherapeutic platform development research laboratory. The candidate will participate in development and innovation of RNA-based therapeutics at a pre-clinical stage. They will be responsible for in vitro transcription (IVT) optimization, purification, and cell-based characterization of new RNA designs across various cell models. The candidate will also contribute to the group wide deliverables.

How You Will Achieve:

• Perform IVT & purification protocols for novel RNA therapeutic candidates

• Develop and establish relevant cell models to support characterization of RNA candidates

• Execute and optimize cell-based assays in various cell models

• Routinely provide updates at project meetings and maintain ELN and presentations updated

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams

• Assume additional responsibilities as needed

Must-Have:

• BS with 2-4 years or MS with 0-2 years of relevant experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline

• Knowledgeable in RNA stability, IVT, nucleic acid biology

• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, primary cells, or stem cells

• Hands-on experience with cell-based assays and general molecular biology methods including, but not limited to, cell transfection, IVT, RNA extraction, qPCR, ddPCR, FACS, TapeStation, or Fragment Analyzer

• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross functional teams

• Team player, organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and remain flexible with changing needs

• Strong work ethic with ability to multitask to support competing priorities in a timely manner

Nice-To-Have

• Experience with ELISA/ WB, IHC/ Immunofluorescence and microscopy is a plus

• Experience in therapeutic drug discovery, gene therapy or RNA therapeutics

Mammalian cell culture & cell transfection, IVT and RNA work, Cell-based assay such as qPCR, ddPCR, FACS, TapeStation

Required:

1. Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, primary cells, or stem cells

2. Must have hands on research experience (Bench Work)

3. Hands-on experience with cell-based assays and general molecular biology methods including, but not limited to, cell transfection, IVT, RNA extraction, qPCR, FACS.
