RWD Analyst

Duration: 05 Months+

Purpose & Scope:

  • This position will be responsible for conducting analysis on standardized real world data sources to generate evidence and insights, supporting activities related to candidate indication selection, drug development, patient centricity, pharmacovigilance, market access, etc. The successful candidate will serve as a data scientist to design and execute RWD analysis using a range of tools, provide consultation to stakeholders and participating in the ideation and prioritization of future tool development.
  • The most commonly used real world databases are insurance claims and electronic medical records, all already converted to OMOP common data model. Analyses cover epidemiology, healthcare economics, pharmaceutical value, outcomes, competitive landscape, and patient population characterization.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Support key use cases of requests from business partners or associated functions through the analysis of OMOP’ed real world data sources
  • Interpret, summarize and explain analysis results to stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into analytic requirements for project execution and future tool development 
  • Collaborate with other internal resources to develop and share best practices and leverage cross-functional efficiencies

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Deliver multiple projects within stipulated timeline and enhance analytical capability of the customers.
  • Reduce outsourcing of AA projects and increase analytical efficiency.
  • Identify new applications of existing data Organizational Context: The Contractor BSA reports to the Director, Lead of BSA.
  • They will have multiple cross-collaborative project teams and matrix responsibilities across the AIA division.
  • The Contractor will collaborate with the following colleagues:
  • Finance Strategic functions
  • including portfolio and marketing strategy Market Access/Pharmacovigilance Clinical Development External: Client’s partners, Vendors.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Proficient programming skills in SQL and R
  • Degree in informatics, epidemiology, or clinical discipline. An economics or applied statistics degree is acceptable if the candidate has demonstrated experience with quantitative methods in life science.
  • 3+ years related experience with  2+ years in healthcare industry, preferably in an epidemiology/ economics/ market access research group working with Real World Data (insurance claims, EMR/ EHR)
  • Ability to translate business questions into data analysis plan
  • Must be able to efficiently educate business partners on best use cases for RWD
  • Ability to translate business / functional needs into RWDE analytics projects    

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in scientific discipline, statistics, epidemiology, clinical, or business
  • Familiarity or previous use of OMOP common data model or OHDSI tools
