Safety Engineer

Duration: 12 Months

This position will reside and provide Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) support to the facility located in Bothell, WA. This location is a combination of office, laser research and development labs, and light assembly areas with limited machine tooling.

The individual in this position will be responsible for:

-Responsible for laser safety program

-Performing ESH audits and following up on corrective actions

-Promoting a culture of safety

-Identifying/supporting injury prevention initiatives, investigations and mistake proofing, laser safety officer duties, machine guarding, electrical safety, chemical safety, oversight of commercial motor vehicle and hazardous material shipping compliance, ESH aspects related to flight testing activities, respiratory protection program, powered industrial vehicles, material handling and storage, and chemical control (approvals/ordering/SDS’/storage/handling/disposal), contractor safety, environmental permits and reports, new/transferred employee orientation, office safety, ergonomics and other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities.

Candidate must have Optical Engineering experience.
