Senior Specialist - Environmental Health & Safety

Duration: 12 Months (Contract)

  • Corporate Remediation Group (CRG) Remediation and Environmental Senior Specialist will:
  • manage legacy remediation projects.
  • provide multimedia environmental regulatory and environmental technology support. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe execution of projects in accordance with the CRG vision and mission.
  • Lead multi-functional remediation project teams consisting of internal and external resources.
  • Develop and communicate the overall project strategy, goals, and objectives in accordance with CRG and policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders such as community groups and regulatory authorities. 
  • Determine and implement the appropriate site investigation, remediation, and monitoring program.
  • Promptly prepare and submit forecasted spend, project estimates, project authorization requests, and environmental reserve adjustments.
  • Provide environmental remediation subject matter expertise for business-funded remediation projects.   Support the corporate Merger, Acquisition, and Divesture Due Diligence process for remediation.  Work with business Due Diligence teams to identify and manage completion of site assessment activities. 
  • Multimedia environmental regulatory support and environmental technology support includes the following:
  • Compliance guidance and permitting for air, water, and solid waste.
  • Capital project support.
  • Developing and conducting environmental training
  • Troubleshooting environmental operational issues
  • Emissions reduction and cost savings
  • Auditing
  • Achieving Operations Sustainability goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a technical or scientific field with emphasis in environmental or equivalent experience.
  • Five years’ experience in the environmental investigation and remediation field
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more scientific or technical subject areas related to environmental remediation practice and environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects; specifically working with large teams and multiple partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
