  • We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Database Systems Manager with a focus on Computer Graphics.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the modification and management of databases, as well as supporting and automating computer graphics pipelines.
  • As the Database Systems Manager, you will review and approve modifications to existing databases and database management systems.
  • You will provide guidance to staff on writing logical and physical database descriptions and ensure the smooth operation of database management systems.
  • Additionally, you will play a key role in directing database development projects, estimating project timelines and costs, and implementing security measures to protect information.
  • To excel in this role, you should have strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
  • A solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle is crucial, including requirements gathering, development, testing, and delivery.
  • Troubleshooting skills and a comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware and software are also essential.
  • Moreover, the ideal candidate will possess a background in computer graphics, with proficiency in 3D content and animation.
  • Experience with tools such as Blender and Maya will be advantageous, as you will be involved in automating computer graphics pipelines, supporting existing pipelines, and scaling on our infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with studios like Walt Disney or DreamWorks will be highly valued, as it indicates a deeper understanding of the industry's requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve modifications to existing databases and database management systems.
  • Instruct staff on writing and coding logical and physical database descriptions and specifying identifiers of databases in management systems.
  • Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations.
  • Review project requests that describe database user needs to estimate time and cost required for completion.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect computer files from accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
  • Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and system improvements.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for software use and acquisition, with a focus on protecting vulnerable information.

Skills required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.
  • In-depth knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle, including business/systems analysis, requirements gathering, functional specification authoring, development, testing, and delivery.
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting and making necessary system changes to resolve issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with computer development software, such as SQL and VisualBasic, and its relevance to systems.

Education:

•     Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field.

Special Requirements:

  • Strong background in computer graphics (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in 3D content and animation (advantageous).
  • Experience with Blender/Maya (advantageous) for automating computer graphics pipelines, supporting existing pipelines, scaling on infrastructure, and building interface pipelines.
  • Preferred experience in studios like Walt Disney or DreamWorks, as they will likely be more familiar with this type of work.
