Space and Power Engineer V

Duration:  12 Months

Pay Rate: 90-95/Hr. on W2

Shift: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM

  1. We are looking for a Space & Power Network Deployment Engineer responsible for the managing and support of one of the world's largest and most complex networks. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in POP Infrastructure design , Space & Power related critical infrastructure projects and be involved in all aspects of Networking. 

  Job Responsibilities:   

  1. Execute regional space & power, cabling, and other infrastructure requirements in support of edge network requirements, present and future. 
  2. Design/Plan new site electrical/mechanical critical infrastructure for Data Center sites. 
  3. Work with Engineers and design and draw layout of edge/pop sites floor plans, allocate space assigned to network function, optical, backbone, IP, compute, etc. 
  4. Execute all SOW Engineering design packages related to new or existing edge/pop sites as per ENS standards. 
  5. Proactively contribute to documentation, automation, and processes as they evolve. 
  6. Understand the overall needs of current and future POP infrastructure. 
  7. Guide retrospective reviews of completed projects with teams to incorporate lessons learned into the team's future roadmaps & goals. 
  8. Ensure processes are being followed and all documentation and systems are delivered as per set standards. 
  9. Involved in site acceptance process for new POP sites. 
  10. Travel to site across states for site survey and evaluation as per need basis. 

  Minimum Qualifications:   

  1. 7-8 years of electrical engineer work 
  2. Outstanding proficiency with AutoCAD/Autodesk tools. 
  3. Knowledge of engineering principles of the infrastructure architecture (space line up, air flow, cooling etc.) 
  4. Knowledge of Telecom Central Offices, Data Center, Collocations and Remote Hut environments, to include engineering principles regarding power and other infrastructure. 
  5. Understanding of optical network design, installation and maintenance for service providers or enterprise networks. 
  6. Experience with field-based work in POPs, carrier hotels, data centers and Central Office environments. 
  7. Technical knowledge of various regional Data Center electrical and cooling configurations, IEC, NEMA standards, AC/DC power, power redundancy scenarios. 
  8. Basic knowledge of optical theory, transport technologies and the operation of optical transport systems. 
  9. Analytical, interpersonal, and communications experience. 
  10. Experience with communication and directing tasks to vendors/suppliers. 
  11. Demonstrated experience analyzing situations and utilizing troubleshooting experience, systems and tools, and problem solving. Hands on experience on Power related projects is a plus. 
  12. Experience working with limited supervision. 
  13. Time management and organizational experience. 
  14. Experience working in a global team environment. 
  15. Willing to travel , approximately 10 to 30% travel required. 

  Must Have:   

  1. Knowledge of Telecom Central Offices, Data Center, Collocations and Remote Hut environments, to include engineering principles regarding power and other infrastructure. 
  2. Experience with communication and directing tasks to vendors/suppliers. 
  3. Outstanding proficiency with AutoCAD/Autodesk tools/BIM 360/Blue Beam. 
  4. PE is preferred.
