Sr. Analyst, Payroll Operations

Lead the team in creating and documenting a process for assessing garnishments needed on lump sum payments

• Assist in misc. tasks related to the pilot contract and potentially other contracts that are implemented in a similar timeframe.

• This analyst/sr. analyst position is part of the Payroll Operations department within the Finance Division.

• Work within the payroll processing, garnishments and accounting teams to assist with implementation of new contractual pay changes and initiatives

• Coordinate and effectively communicate with multiple departments

• Create streamlined and accurate procedures related to the new union contract or implementation of new processes to ensure compliance with various state and federal laws and regulations

• Create new procedure documentation or update existing documents as necessary

• Recommend and assist in process improvements to strengthen the control environment and increase the utilization of resources (people, technology, funds)

• Represent the department in meetings and through written and verbal communication with internal and external customers

• Perform analyses to evaluate the impact of the contractual changes

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent education/experience

• 3 years’ experience leading projects or cross functional teams

Desired Skills

• Prior payroll related work experience

• Prior garnishment order processing experience

• Knowledge of SAP general ledger and payroll systems

• Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing priorities

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and quickly learn new responsibilities

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

• Demonstrated experience testing systems using a standardized methodology for documentation preferred

• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word and Excel
