Sr. Project Manager

Duration:  12 Months.

Pay Rate: $89/hr

Job Description:

The Sr. Project Manager will have an important role in managing the business activities for Oracle cloud for financials data conversions, cleansing, and validation processes throughout the three testing cycles and go live for the NextGen Finance program. He/she will work closely with solution architects, 15 workstream leads, data owners across the company, the Systems Implementation Partner, and the NextGen Finance Program Manager to execute against the data conversion and validation strategies. The NextGen Finance program aims to modernize the global finance function and streamline work across the organization by transitioning to the Oracle Fusion cloud financials solution which includes 200+ integrations to internal and external systems and partners.

To excel in this role, the candidate should have a solid background in project management processes and tools, as well as excellent communication skills. Experience in Oracle cloud for financials, data conversion and validation processes, large, global system implementations, and a good understanding of Finance functions will be important.  Experience with Coupa, Workday and/or High Radius is a plus.

Qualifications:

  1. 10 years of experience managing progressively complex and challenging projects and/or programs.
  2. Demonstrated success managing data conversions, data cleansing, and data validation processes with large, cross functional teams in a very dynamic and fast paced environment.
  3. Experience with Oracle Fusion cloud for financials a must.  Experience with Coupa, Workday, and/or High Radius a plus.
  4. A good understanding of Finance business functions e.g. Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Financial Planning, Controllership, and end-to-end processes like Order to Cash, Record to Report, Plan to Perform.
  5. Demonstrated project management experience within formal SDLC processes and methodologies such as PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  6. Deep experience with Microsoft Project and Resource planning.
  7. Experience with large, global system implementations with globally disbursed project resources.  
  8. Leadership qualities including strategic and critical thinking, relationship management, organizational skills and ability to motivate and influence others.
  9. Successful track record working with business teams to define, develop, test and launch new processes and new programs.
  10. Excellent communication (verbal and written) & presentation skills, including ability to tailor communication to audience to achieve desired results.
  11. Ability to anticipate potential issues and propose mitigation plans.
  12. Innate capability to create order out of chaos.
  13. Ability to plan, organize and proctor efficient meetings through preparation, stakeholder buy in, and guide a group towards agreed upon objectives.
  14. Experience with analyzing complex issues and delivering appropriate solutions.
  15. Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and generate creative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all business activities for the Oracle cloud for financials data conversion, cleansing, and validation processes throughout the NextGen Finance program according to the data conversion and validation strategies. Go live planned for summer of 2024.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager and Systems Implementor to understand program strategies, priorities, critical path, decisions, risks, and issues and apply to data conversion, cleansing, and validation business activity and resource plan. Make recommendations to shift activities and resources to meet critical plan.
  • Collaborate with workstream leads and solutions architects to identify global data owners across all 3rd party systems and within Oracle.
  • Facilitate meetings with the stakeholders to provide awareness to the conversion/validation tasks, activities, timelines, issues, and progress.
  • Facilitate discussions with internal audit to share data validation status and outcomes.  Systems Implementation  Partner to support discussions.
  • Align the Mattel data validators with data availability through multiple mock conversions prior to testing events, assess progress, and capture/help clear issues.
  • Work with Systems Implementation Partner and workstream leads to develop data validation plans per conversion.
  • Monitor the data conversion plan and alignment to plan.
  • Work with Systems Implementation Partner to share the mock-run data conversion results and data exception findings with the workstream leads and Program team.
  • Manage data exception findings and disposition with the Mattel team and identify the resolution plan and priorities.
  • Facilitate daily standups as needed with data validation team members by workstream or data target (GL, AP, etc.).
  • Participate in weekly status meetings, capture feedback and prepare status.
  • Maintain repository of signed-off validation templates organized to simplify audit reviews.
  • Have a good understanding of Finance business functions e.g. Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Financial Planning, Controllership, and end-to-end processes like Order to Cash, Record to Report, Plan to Perform.
  • Have a good understanding of SDLC key activities e.g. testing, conversions, integrations, reporting, change management, training, and support.
  • Leverage Mattel’s PM methodologies, tools & templates. Use Microsoft Project to do resource loading and planning across all data conversion and validation activities and business resources.
  • Produce and present executive level presentations on health of resource planning, options that need decisioning, and issues that need escalation.
  • Manage a high degree of change in a fast paced, complex, and demanding environment.
  • Lead and direct work of others who do not directly report to you but whose input and cooperation is needed on the project.
