Staff Accountant/Revenue Recognition

Duration: 3 Months

We need an experienced accountant to help reconcile the revenue recognition entries/process for a large number of WBSe in SAP S4 HANA.

This role will be hybrid, 3 days per week in the office (after the initial week of training)

Preference for Bachelors in Finance or Accounting.

Can be extended or converted, but for now this is a year end project.

Looking for someone with 5+ years of experience in accounting - journal entries, reconciliations, etc. The candidate needs to work somewhat autonomously with periodic touchpoints. This project will require repetitive reconciliation activities and a need to summarize findings and determine next steps for solutions. There will be guidance from me throughout this project. The time period of this project listed is the worst case scenario and may be shorter. SAP S4 HANA experience is a plus, but not absolutely necessary (any large ERP experience will be helpful).

1.  Would like to have someone with at least 5 years of experience in accounting with reconciliation and journal entry experience.  The key is that they have experience and are good at reconciling accounts.

2.  Have a specific reconciliation process that I am following, but the candidate would need to be able to follow that process and then analyze the anomalies in the data to determine what the problem is.  In some cases, the problem is caused by someone doing the SAP to S4 HANA migration wrong (we just brought over problems into the new system rather than taking care of them before the migration) and in other cases, there may be systematic problems that we will need to submit tickets to IT to research further and suggest corrections.  I suspect that at the beginning, I will work closely with that person to see if together we can figure out what is causing the problem and then as they get more experienced, they would be able to work more independently.

3.  The candidate will need to have good communication and documentation skills in order to communicate their findings to me and to IT.

4.  The candidate needs to be able to work independently.  I will provide support, but may not be available at all times.
