Staff Employee Relations Specialist

Contract: 12 Months+

The Staff Employee Relations Specialist conducts moderate to complex investigations and manages performance related cases in alignment with legal, industry, and Client best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of collaboration and initiative, as well as critical and objective judgment, in providing guidance, support and recommendations to resolve employee relations concerns and support a diverse and inclusive culture and work environment. This position requires both hands-on and strategic expertise, with a next-level customer service orientation in all aspects of execution.

Key Work:

• Manage performance-based case work in alignment with our Performance Management process.

• Conduct investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and other violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Communicate regularly regarding pending investigations and provides timely investigation reports with supporting documentation for all completed investigations.

• Use effective interviewing and documentation techniques and utilize the designated online case management tool for tracking.

• Partner with Legal team in conducting investigations to facilitate prompt and effective resolution of workplace concerns.

• Create and update HR policies and procedures that pertain to employee relations; conduct trainings on compliance with policies and procedures.

• Analyze employee relations trends with Leadership and help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs, and policies.

• Develop effective relationships with HR Business Partners to promote positive employee relations throughout the organization to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement.

• Participate in projects led by the Employee and Labor Relations team as needed.

Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum 5 years’ experience in employee relations, investigations, employment law, and disciplinary actions.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, which govern employment policies and practices.

• Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

• Experience successfully implementing programs across geographically distributed teams.
