System/Network Administrator
Duration: 4 Months
Pay Rate: 60-65/HR. on W2
Shift: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM or 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM
Candidate will be responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities in - Validation Iabs, conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect data. Experience with Board assembly/rework, oscilloscopes, Iogic Analyzers, - Voltage meters and soldering. May perform initial root cause of the issues encountered during the testing (hardware & software). Assignments are semi-routine in nature; work is performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems. Additional Skills and or education: Skills Needed: Ability to assemble/rework standard PC systems from raw components. Responsible for system assembly, bring up, and debug. Perform routine data collection and system maintenance. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions is a must. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced fluid environment. Need to be self-motivating and driven. Ability to Iearn quickly, perform tasks with moderate supervision, and have strong debug skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse team. Nice to have: Some knowledge of Linux commands. Application porting/development/debugging (e.g., Linux GTK apps framework) with Engineering guidance. Device driver porting/ development/debugging. Embedded system programming/debugging. USB and Firmware knowledge is a plus.
Years of experience required for this position:
Minimum 4 years of experience with basic Iab skills.
Associate's degree is required
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Computer assembly and enablement:
Willing to assembly a computer platform from a given set of components/parts and a set of
required software specifications.
- Experience with BIOS/UEFI configuration is required, as well as installing different Operating
Systems, Software Drivers and Software Applications.
- Hardware manipulation and enablement:
Familiar with concepts such as printed circuit board 'reworks'. Able to modify board physical
components based on a given schematic and specification (solder/de-solder processes) and
to correctly and safely interconnect components to measurement tools such as multimeters,
oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems.
- Data acquisition:
Familiar with concepts such as software testing and collection of results from test
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Desirable to have experience using software tools to validate computer performance, such
as benchmarks.
- Desirable to have experience with benchmarking, results analysis and techniques to upload
large data volumes to given storage/processing location.
