Job Description :

  • Contribute to preclinical projects by designing, executing, analyzing, and troubleshooting molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays using brain tissue from preclinical models for Alzheimer’s disease (qPCR, ELISA, HTRF, WB, etc.) with limited supervision.
  • Collect brain tissue from transgenic mice and perform immunohistochemistry using pathology markers.
  • Perform physiologically relevant cellular assays in disease models of iPSC-derived neurons for target validation purposes.
  • Establish and adapt new experimental protocols.
  • Document experiments, maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, and present data to the team.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g. neurobiology, cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.).
  • Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry or equivalent experience in academic laboratories.
  • In vivo technical skills including animal handling, tissue collection, and immunohistochemistry.
  • Hands-on experience working with in vivo models including genetically engineered models
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, including cell lines, primary cells, and iPSC derived models relevant to neurodegenerative disease research as applied to target discovery, validation, and cellular proof-of-action.
  • Strong skillset in molecular biology techniques and various gene expression, immunoassay, and molecular profiling approaches applied to cells and brain tissues (e.g. qPCR, ELISA, WB, etc.).
  • Ability to design, execute, and analyze experiments with limited supervision.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, organization, and presentation skills.
