Location: South Riding, VA
The LVN/LPN will handle patient registration, intake, and wait room support, along with clinical duties such as phlebotomy, specimen collection, immunizations, vitals, EKGs, and retinopathy testing. Candidates must have prior immunization experience. Those with backgrounds limited to long-term care settings (nursing homes, home health, LTACs, SNFs) should not be submitted due to challenges adapting to the environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- The LVN/LPN will perform patient registration and intake tasks, will assist with wait room management and other tasks to enhance the patient experience.
- Clinical responsibilities to include phlebotomy and specimen collection services, vaccine injection, patient assessment activities during intake such as vital signs, and performing diagnostic tests such as EKG and Retinopathy.
- Candidates must have previous experience with immunizations/injections.
- Please note: Nurses whose experience is primarily in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, home health, LTACs, and skilled nursing facilities may encounter challenges adapting to the environment.
- Common areas of difficulty include managing multiple simultaneous tasks, limited exposure to standard immunization protocols, and unfamiliarity with navigating the EPIC electronic health record system
Skills:
- Clinical experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room settings
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills in busy patient care environments
- Minimum of 1-year clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Hands-on experience administering immunizations and providing vaccine education
- Ability to take vital signs and perform standard clinical tasks
- Experience documenting within an EMR system (EPIC preferred)
Education/Experience:
- Active, unrestricted LVN/LPN license
- Current BLS certification (AHA/Red Cross
