Location (mandatory): Charlotte North Carolina 28216 We are seeking a dependable machine operator to perform automated foam system operations in door manufacturing. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, calibrations, routine maintenance, production and scrap reporting, reading blueprints, and ensuring safety and quality standards. Requires 2+ years manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs the function of operating the automated foam system on the manufacturing line.
  • Accurately completes daily production and scrap reporting.
  • Completes daily checklists, recording information such as temperature settings and foam density checks, to ensure identification of issues that may prevent maximum machine productivity and product quality expectations.
  • Performs calibration of the chemicals used within the process.
  • Completes routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Coordinates the work of associates performing operations that follow the foaming process.
  • Communicates with the line leader performance to schedule, quality performance and any barriers to production or quality performance.
  • Able to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality.
  • Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.
  • Abe to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Operates forklift, power pallet jack or manual carts or pallet jacks to unload, move or store materials.
  • Follows safety and PPE procedures and reports violations to supervisor, leads, and/or to safety.
  • Achieves/performs daily targets and output of production.  

Skills:

  • Operate automated foam systems ensuring accurate production and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to maintain optimal manufacturing efficiency.
  • Perform chemical calibrations and routine maintenance for smooth operations.
  • Read blueprints and instructions to verify measurements and product quality.
  • Follow safety, OSHA, and ISO standards in all manufacturing activities.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years of machine operation experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions and blueprints.
  • Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work in a team.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and able to adapt quickly to change.
