Contract - Duration: 3+Years

Location: Lexington, MA Overseas and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Background/Need: The Laboratory is seeking a highly analytical and collaborative individual to lead the development of demand planning and BOM-driven part planning capabilities within a high-mix, low-volume prototyping environment. This role will serve as a bridge between technical users, purchasing staff, and system developers, working closely with stakeholders across engineering, mission divisions, and departments to define and implement effective planning solutions. This position is focused on program-driven, custom builds where success depends on visibility, readiness, and prevention of unnecessary buys rather than sales-driven forecast accuracy. The individual will act as both subject matter expert and project owner for demand and part planning capabilities in Aras Innovator, integrated with SAP S/4HANA and SRM. This individual will play a key role in transforming how we plan, manage, and execute prototype material readiness by capturing real user needs, translating them into clear requirements, and supporting delivery of scalable, repeatable processes and tools. This role will ensure these solutions are relevant and tied to the Laboratory’s mission. Clearance: Interim clearance acceptable at start Work Location: Onsite 2-3 days/week (including Wednesdays) Interview Process: Initial prescreen, followed by multiple 30-minute stakeholder interviews (mostly virtual)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage design and build of Lab-wide demand and program part planning driven by complex BOMs
  • Recommend processes and solutions for forecasting long-lead and strategic parts efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Engage stakeholders to understand pain points, use cases, and operational constraints
  • Facilitate working sessions to capture and synthesize user needs into clear actionable requirements
  • Develop user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria to guide process and development
  • Serve as functional owner for Aras Innovator Part Planning, collaborating with development teams and PLM/ERP owners
  • Drive adoption by developing training, guides, and process playbooks for engineers and program staff
  • Track progress, risks, and dependencies; communicate updates across stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for strategic buying, process automation, and data integration
  • Ensure integration of Part Planning capabilities with Enterprise Demand Planning and other supply chain functions
  • Participate in integration efforts for supply chain capabilities to enable an end-to-end planning ecosystem

  • Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels
  • Self-directed and capable of managing multiple workstreams
  • Experience with change management and process/tool adoption
  • Experience with Digital Engineering tools and data structures
  • Exposure to Agile/iterative development (Scrum, SAFe)
  • Ability to create mockups, process maps, or wireframes
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or prototyping environments

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
