Contract - 1+ Years Contract

Location: Houston, TX 77001 Work Location: Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite per week, per global telework policy. Full lifecycle Electrical Engineering support for large-scale power generation facilities and industrial tenant projects. Performs planning, design, development, and material requisition activities for electrical systems and equipment. Supports client interface, coordination, and technical leadership to ensure project electrical requirements are met. Provides engineering judgment and technical recommendations to resolve complex electrical system issues while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Maintains documentation and supports cost estimates, schedules, and staffing plans. Client Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) supports a rapidly expanding portfolio of EPC projects across power generation, semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle infrastructure, data centers, and giga-factories. The organization focuses on delivering innovative, agile, and technology-driven solutions to meet complex project demands. The Senior Electrical Engineer will support planning and detailed design activities for power generation facilities and multiple industrial tenants, including AI data centers and large manufacturing facilities. This role is critical in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient electrical infrastructure for advanced industrial and energy projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct independent Electrical engineering work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques and criteria.
  • Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and systems used in power generation, transmission, distribution, and storage of electricity.
  • Develop conceptual designs for Electrical engineering projects with specialized or unique requirements.
  • Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
  • Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management and project leadership.
  • Support preparation of cost estimates, staffing requirements, and project schedules.
  • Prepare or oversee discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of Electrical-related work.
  • Mentor Electrical engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training and technical guidance.
  • Participate in and provide input to technical training and educational programs as directed.

Skills:

  • Electrical power system design and engineering
  • NEC code and ANSI/IEEE standards application
  • Medium and low voltage power systems
  • Power system studies, one-line diagrams, and schematics
  • Electrical raceway, grounding, and lightning protection design
  • Electrical equipment specification and material requisitions
  • Client coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Engineering standards, procedures, and design programs
  • Experience on medium to large industrial projects such as power generation plants or data centers.
  • Experience coordinating design across multi-office EPC teams (India coordination preferred).
  • Familiarity with Electrical Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, and Standard Application Programs (SAPs).
  • Strong collaboration skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Experience serving as Electrical Responsible Engineer for medium to large material requisitions (transformers, switchgear, substations, UPS systems, bulk materials).
  • Strong understanding of medium voltage (34.5kV / 13.8kV) and low voltage (480V / 208-120V) systems.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound engineering judgment.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or international equivalent).
  • 10–13 years of relevant Electrical engineering experience or 14–17 years of related work experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering (Power).
