Contract - 6+ months contract on W2

Location: Palm Beach County, FL 33480. Reporting to the Field Services Manager, the IS Technician - Helpdesk will service a designated geography of retail locations across Palm Beach and Broward County. The role is responsible for providing excellent customer service while installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving retail technology equipment failures within established service level agreements. Equipment supported includes POS (point of sale) registers, self-checkout systems, thermal printers, laser printers, scanners, PCs, thin clients, phone systems, RF devices, networking components, cabling, pharmacy systems, photo systems, minute clinic equipment, and other related computer peripherals. This is a field-based role requiring daily travel between client locations. Background/Need: The client requires onsite field technical support to maintain and service retail technology equipment across multiple store locations. The position ensures minimal downtime of store systems, supports operational continuity, and maintains service level commitments. The technician will cover a large geographic territory primarily within Palm Beach County and parts of Broward County. Candidates must reside in Palm Beach County, preferably mid-county (Boynton Beach to Palm Beach).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Service and install computer and retail equipment by analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and related technical issues while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Support POS systems, self-checkout units, printers, scanners, PCs, networking, cabling, and other store technology equipment.
  • Adhere to all compliance processes, service procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Self-manage workload, scheduling, overtime, inventory, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supported technologies, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Travel daily between store locations within assigned geography.
  • Assist neighboring areas with workload as needed.

  • Own reliable vehicle capable of transporting printers and related equipment (two-seater vehicles not acceptable)
  • Residence within Palm Beach County, FL (mid-county preferred)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule supporting 24 x 7 operations as needed
  • Ability to self-manage workload and administrative tasks
  • Experience supporting POS and retail store systems
  • Experience with networking, cabling, and RF devices
  • Prior field service experience covering multiple locations
  • Experience working within defined service level agreements (SLAs)

Education/Experience:

  • Technical School certification with GED or High School Diploma required
  • Work Model: 100% Field Service – Palm Beach County and parts of Broward County, FL
  • Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Mileage reimbursement at $0.72 per mile
  • Must list City/State at the top of the resume (No candidates outside Palm Beach County)
  • Territory may include locations from North Broward County to North Palm Beach County, primarily Palm Beach County
  • Overtime may be required based on workload
  • Potential for permanent conversion depending on business needs
