Contract - 3 Months

Location (mandatory): Ashburn, VA Area of work: Able to drive within a 60 mile radius servicing sites. Work Environment & Schedule: Field based role with daily travel to customer locations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic evaluations, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment
  • Conduct system performance tests and ensure units meet manufacturer and code standards
  • Perform routine maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and component inspections
  • Provide excellent customer service while explaining repair needs, options, and recommendations
  • Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation accurately
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working condition
  • Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and applicable codes and regulations
  • Participate in on call rotation for after-hours or emergency service
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, and customers

Skills:

  • Engineering Degree Required, strong HVAC skills in refrigeration , strong trouble shooting and maintenance experience
  • Expenses: Mileage provided while driving to work sites in the area.
  • Mileage is to the site and between sites is covered.
  • The mileage home is not covered. One direction pay on days they go to sites other than the office address. On days there is no drive to a site, the technician isn’t always required to come to the office address.
  • Experience with smart thermostats and building automation
  • Familiarity with both residential and light commercial systems
  • Boiler and/or chiller experience
  • Electrical and refrigeration background
  • Kitchen equipment and/or refrigeration experience

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • HVAC trade school certificate or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2+ years experience preferred (or entry level for apprentice roles)
  • Valid EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments, including outdoors, rooftops, and confined spaces
