Location : Jeffersonville, IN 47130
The LVN/LPN will provide high-quality clinical care in a MinuteClinic environment, supporting patient assessment, medication administration, preventive care, diagnostic testing, and clinical documentation. The role requires experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room settings, along with strong skills in phlebotomy, vaccine administration, point-of-care testing, and electronic medical records. The LVN/LPN will work collaboratively with patients and healthcare professionals to deliver safe, efficient, and evidence-based care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex patient assessments and monitor overall health and well-being
- Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications as directed
- Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature
- Perform phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing
- Evaluate patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses
- Conduct medication reviews and identify potential side effects or drug interactions
- Collect and accurately document patient medical histories, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history
- Perform mental health screenings, including depression and mood assessments
- Provide patient education related to medications, self-care, disease management, and treatment plans
- Connect patients with appropriate healthcare and community resources
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR/EHR systems, with Epic experience preferred
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment
- Follow clinical protocols, safety procedures, and evidence-based nursing practices
- Support overall clinic operations and contribute to high-quality patient care
Skills:
- Active LPN/LVN license in good standing with no current or prior disciplinary actions
- Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room settings
- Minimum 1 year of related healthcare experience
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems; Epic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication administration and patient assessment
- Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and patient-care skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to work 2–3 weekdays per week, approximately 20 hours per week
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and major holidays based on clinic needs
- Ability to work shifts ranging from approximately 7–10 hours during clinic operating hours
Education/Experience:
- Current LPN/LVN license applicable to Indiana; compact licenses must be issued in the candidate's primary state of residence
- Minimum 1 year of relevant healthcare experience
- Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room experience strongly preferred
- BLS certification must remain valid for at least 30 days beyond the anticipated start date
- Candidates with experience limited primarily to long-term care, nursing homes, home health, LTAC, or skilled nursing facilities are not preferred
- Must be available to complete 3 weeks of training/orientation
- Must be willing to work schedules established in 6-week blocks
- Must understand that this is a temporary contract position and that conversion to a permanent employee is possible but not guaranteed
