Contract - 12 Months

Location : San Diego, CA 92121. The Material Handler I will support manufacturing operations in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. The role focuses on inbound receiving, inventory management, material staging, and delivery of temperature-sensitive materials to production. The position requires working across refrigerated, frozen, and deep-freeze areas while following SOPs, safety requirements, and inventory procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming materials and packages accurately and deliver them throughout the facility as required.
  • Pull, stage, verify, and transfer raw materials, WIP, and production materials to support manufacturing operations.
  • Perform inventory transactions using ERP systems, scanners, and other computer tools.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and quality records.
  • Operate manual and motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, electric carts, and other powered industrial equipment safely.
  • Complete required PIT training and operate equipment as assigned.
  • Handle temperature-sensitive materials across refrigerated, frozen, and deep-freeze environments.
  • Follow FDA-regulated SOPs and maintain compliance during audits.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage and work areas.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, Shipping, Receiving, Quality, and other departments.
  • Follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements.
  • Lift, move, and carry products weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Work overtime as needed to support business operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Warehouse and material handling experience.
  • Inbound receiving and inventory management.
  • Basic computer literacy and ERP system experience.
  • Ability to follow SOPs precisely in a regulated environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work in temperature-controlled environments.
  • Ability to learn and operate multiple types of PIT equipment.
  • Comfortable working around elevated warehouse racking and using required safety harnesses.
  • Familiarity with mobile scanning devices preferred.
  • Oracle ERP experience preferred.
  • Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, riders, pickers, or reach equipment preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • No minimum years of experience required.

Education/Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Prior warehouse, material handling, inventory, receiving, or manufacturing-support experience preferred. Experience in medical device, diagnostics, or temperature-controlled environments is an advantage but not required.
